Superb post, MrsM, and wonderful resources for checking one's daily nutritional needs.

I remember being quite shocked when reading the research that indicated that an overweight person can actually die of starvation because of their inadequate daily consumption of calories.

Many who weighed over 400 pounds and were consuming 500 calories a day died of starvation.

Death from starvation happens not only to the thin.
